Drone Pilot Academy® (“Drone Pilot Academy,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the information of students and other authorized users who use the Drone Pilot mobile application (“App”).
The Drone Pilot App is an educational and training application intended primarily for students and authorized participants of Drone Pilot Academy programs. It is not intended for general public use.
This Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected through the App, how that information is used, and the choices available to users.
Depending on the features you use, the App may collect or process the following categories of information:
We may collect information necessary to identify and provide services to registered students, including:

Student or account information
Course enrollment information
Login or authentication information
This information may be provided directly by you or associated with your enrollment in a Drone Pilot Academy program.
The App may collect and store information related to your participation in Drone Pilot Academy training, including:
Quiz and examination results
Practice exam scores

This information is used to provide educational services, track student progress, improve training, and assist instructors and authorized program administrators.
The App may process limited technical information necessary to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the App. This may include information such as:
Device type
Operating system
App version
Diagnostic or crash information
Technical identifiers necessary for application functionality
Certain training features may use your device’s camera, motion sensors, LiDAR sensor, or other supported hardware to provide augmented reality, simulation, environmental awareness, or drone-training functionality.
When these features require access to protected device resources, the App will request permission through the operating system.
Information from these sensors is used to provide the requested App functionality. Drone Pilot Academy does not use camera, LiDAR, or sensor information for advertising or user tracking.
Certain aviation or drone-related features may require or offer access to your device’s location to provide geographically relevant functionality.
The App will request permission before accessing location information when required by the operating system. You may manage location permissions through your device settings.
Location information is not used for advertising or to track users across other companies’ apps or websites.
Information collected or processed through the App may be used to:
Provide access to Drone Pilot Academy courses and training resources
Authenticate registered students and authorized users
Track educational progress and course completion
Administer quizzes, practice examinations, and assessments
Provide drone simulation, augmented reality, and training features
Provide student support
Maintain and improve App functionality
Diagnose technical problems
Protect the security and integrity of the App
Communicate important information relating to a student’s training or account
Comply with applicable legal, contractual, or regulatory requirements
We do not sell personal information collected through the Drone Pilot App.
The App may interact with third-party platforms or services when necessary to provide educational, authentication, technical, or aviation-related functionality.
These services may include services provided by Apple, Google, or other technology providers used to operate features of the App.
When third-party services process information on our behalf, we expect those providers to maintain protections for personal information consistent with applicable law and the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
Third-party services may also maintain their own privacy policies governing information processed directly by those services.
Drone Pilot Academy does not share student information with third parties for third-party advertising or cross-app advertising purposes.
Certain Drone Pilot Academy programs may use Google services, including Google Classroom, Google Docs, or related educational tools.
If the App allows you to connect to a Google service, information obtained from Google is used only to provide or support the educational functionality requested by the user.
Your use of Google services is also subject to Google’s applicable terms and privacy policies.
We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to:
Operate the App and provide Drone Pilot Academy services
Provide educational services to students
Work with service providers that support App functionality
Support a sponsoring educational institution, workforce development organization, government agency, or other program partner when appropriate to administer a student’s training program
Protect the security, rights, or property of Drone Pilot Academy, its students, or others
Comply with applicable laws, regulations, subpoenas, court orders, or other lawful requests
We do not sell App users’ personal information to data brokers or advertisers.
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide our educational services, maintain appropriate training and business records, comply with legal or contractual obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the security of our services.
Different categories of information may be retained for different periods depending on their purpose and applicable requirements.
When information is no longer reasonably necessary, we may delete or anonymize it, subject to any legal, regulatory, contractual, or legitimate recordkeeping requirements.
Drone Pilot Academy uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.
However, no electronic transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You may control certain permissions provided to the App through your device settings, including permissions relating to:
Location
Camera
Photos
Bluetooth
Motion or other device capabilities
Disabling a permission may prevent certain App features from functioning properly.
You may also contact Drone Pilot Academy to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with your account, subject to applicable legal and recordkeeping requirements.
Users may request deletion of their Drone Pilot account and associated personal information.
Where account deletion functionality is available within the App, users may initiate a deletion request through the applicable account or settings feature.

When an account is deleted, we will delete personal information associated with the account that we are not required or permitted to retain for legitimate legal, contractual, security, or recordkeeping purposes.
The Drone Pilot App is intended for registered Drone Pilot Academy students and authorized program participants.
Some Drone Pilot Academy educational programs may include participants under the age of 18. When personal information from minors is collected or processed, Drone Pilot Academy will handle that information in accordance with applicable laws and the requirements of the applicable educational program.
The App is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children except as necessary for an authorized educational program and as permitted by applicable law.
Drone Pilot Academy does not use information collected through the Drone Pilot App to track users across apps or websites owned by other companies for advertising purposes.
The App is an educational application and is not designed to serve behavioral or targeted advertising based on student activity.
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes to the App, our practices, legal requirements, or available features.
When the policy is updated, the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page will be revised.
